Owning the Darkness, Welcoming the Light
January 14 @ 10:15 am - 11:15 am
Social anthropologists tell us that societies over the millennia have responded to the natural recurrent rhythms of the earth by creating rituals at the changing of the seasons. In the Northern hemisphere, as humans perceived the longer nights of winter, we created stories which assure us that life-sustaining light will return. In this service, we will “reflect” on the persistent appeal of some of the common elements of our modern experience of the timeless stories of Light and Darkness. Rev. Dr. Dan King leads our worship.
